Before we start, here are four key points to read and note:
- Science bit: If you are not accustomed to any exercise please consult your GP before putting on your trainers.
- Schedule your workouts, if you can, but don’t stop if you miss one. There’s a tomorrow for a reason.
- Expect bad days. If one day you run brilliantly and the next time you go out, you could hardly lift your feet off the floor – it’s normal – everyone has bad days and they do pass. Keep at it, the next time you go out will probably be your best.
- Slow and steady wins the race. You’re not chasing anything or anyone, going too fast does result in injury.
